The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC),
represented by Mrs. Butree Vangsirirungruang, Director of the Digital Financial
Innovation Department, joined a panel discussion on “Promoting the Use of
Intellectual Property as a Tool for Accessing Funding Sources” at the
signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Development of
Platforms to Support the Use of Intellectual Property as a Tool for Accessing
Funding Sources, initiated by the Department of Intellectual Property. The
signing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of
Commerce, and attended by Mr. Varavongsa Ramangkura, Vice Minister for
Commerce, Ms. Nusara Kanjanakul, Director General of the Department of
Intellectual Property, Mr. Duangrit
Bunnag, Member of the National Soft Power Strategy Committee, and
representatives from private sectors. The event took place at the Ministry of
Commerce on 24 February 2025.
At the panel discussion, SEC Director of the Digital Financial
Innovation Department outlined the SEC’s role in promoting fundraising for soft
power industry in the capital market. This includes supporting the initial coin
offering (ICO) of artists' intellectual property as a mechanism to drive Thailand’s
digital and creative economy.
