SEC public hearing on draft amendment to business continuity management rules

Tuesday 12 April 2016 | No. 32 / 2016

Bangkok, April 12, 2016 ? The SEC is seeking public comments on a draft amendment to the rules governing intermediaries? business continuity management (BCM) and service outsourcing to enhance their risk management capacity and lower potential disruption to the overall market in compliance with international standards.

Essentially, the amendment would require that the senior management of securities companies and derivative business operators take full ownership of the written BCM policy and enforce strict implementation of the BCM plan. In case of outsourcing business functions to service providers, the outsourcing contract would have to incorporate a BCM plan therein as well.??

The consultation paper is available at www.sec.or.th/hearing. Stakeholders and interested parties are welcome to submit comments through the website, or facsimile at 0-2263-6291 or email: preeporn@sec.or.th.

The public hearing ends on May 7, 2016.
