Bangkok, May 24, 2016 ? The SEC is seeking stakeholders? and public comments on a proposed amendment to the rules governing prevention and control of conflicts of interest of asset management companies.
In protecting the best interest of investors, the SEC is proposing to amend such rules to provide a clearer practical guideline for fund management and more room for investors to consider potential conflicts of interest that may arise additionally.
The proposed amendment contains several key points of change, including (1) determination of additional related persons in considering appointment of asset custodians for private funds and provident funds, and (2) criteria for transferring private and/or provident funds to mutual funds under management of the same asset management company.
