Bangkok, 17 April 2020 – SEC is inviting the public to attend SEC FinTech Virtual Seminar 2020, which features alternative approaches and tools for growth of businesses and the society by leveraging financial technology or FinTech. The online seminar will be presented in a series of four live sessions on SEC Fan Page on Facebook. The first session will kick off on 30 April 2020.

Secretary-General Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol said that while everyone is practicing
social distancing to control and mitigate the impacts of the Coronavirus
disease (COVID-19), small-and medium-sized businesses still need to look for
opportunities to access funding channels to keep their businesses running and
supports to get them through the crisis. Since today’s ever advancing digital technology
can be a great help to business fundraising, SEC will host a series of online
seminar to share knowledge and information on how to leverage the use of FinTech
to access sources of fund.
The SEC FinTech Virtual Seminar 2020 will be broadcast live via SEC Fan Page. Viewers
are welcome to post questions and share views real-time with guest speakers and
the online community. The seminar will run once a week, featuring four
important topics related to funding in the digital age presented by experts in
the field, as follows:

Transforming SMEs: Emerging Opportunities amid COVID-19

The
first session will kick off on 30 April 2020 from 10.00 hours onwards. SEC expects
to see the society, the business sector and all other sectors leverage FinTech
not only to cope with the COVID-19 situation but also to build a robust
foundation for generating growth and prosperity in the long run.
