Bangkok, Thursday 23 August 2018 - SEC is seeking comments on the revision of the draft notification on the operation system and provision of services of securities business operators and derivative contract business operators, so that the business operators may conduct their operation in a more efficient manner.
SEC plans to review
the operation system that the securities business operators and derivative
contract business operators have adopted for some time in the operation and provision
of services in order that the operation system will be more appropriate and
flexible and in line with various types of business models. The operation
system will also reduce burdens and obstacles in the business operations, with
a view to grouping the relevant regulations of the operation system and the
provision of services to facilitate business
operators.
The public hearing
is intended to propose the draft notification which has been revised according
to comments from the business operators and related persons
from the public hearing in May, for example:
- The
operation system shall have in place a client identification and verification
procedure that is both appropriate and reliable;
- Upon
any material change in a transaction, or any reason to suspect such information,
to verify, to review, and to collect additional client information;
- The
provision of services relating to investment analysis and consultancy so as to
specify the plan for investment allocation for clients by distributing
investments in securities or derivative contracts, which must be consented to by
