SEC held the “SMEs’ Road to the
Thai Capital Market” seminar on Thursday, 19 December 2019. SEC Deputy Secretary-General Sirivipa Supantanet, delivered an opening speech, and
Miss Ariyaporn Amnucksoradej, acting Director of the Division of
Industrial Business Capability Development, Department of Industrial Promotion,
presided over the seminar.
SEC Deputy Secretary-General Sirivipa Supantanet
stated that
“This seminar is the first event where SEC had the opportunity to meet with
industrial SMEs, after SEC and the Department of Industrial Promotion signed a
memorandum of cooperation to assist SMEs in accessing funds through the capital
market on 30 September 2019. This seminar created awareness and knowledge of financial
tools in the capital market available for industrial SMEs. This is in line with
SEC’s strategic plan to promote the use of the capital market as an alternative
capital raising tool for SMEs and startups. SEC previously cooperated with the Bank
for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives to organize seminars for
farmers.”
This seminar comprised three main sessions: a
lecture on “Capital Market for the Public,” a seminar on “SMEs’ Road to the Thai Capital Market,” and a discussion
on “Notable Accounting Tips for SMEs.” Over 130 SME operators and executives
and employees of the Department of Industrial Promotion attended the event,
held at SEC Office.
