Finance Minister appoints expert commissioners to SEC Board

Bangkok, 26 April 2021 – Finance Minister Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith has signed the order appointing three expert commissioners to the SEC Board, namely (1) Mr. Krairit Euchukanonchai, financial expert, (2) Mr. Viput Ongsakul (second term), and (3) Mr. Subhak Siwaraksa (second term). All appointments have become effective since 16 April 2021.

Mr. Krairit Euchukanonchai obtained a Bachelor of Science from Chulalongkorn University, an MBA (Banking and Finance) from North Texas State University, USA. Currently, he is also a financial expert at the Office of Insurance Commission, and chairman and director of listed companies on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Mr. Viput Ongsakul obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, and a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University. Currently, he is also Associate Professor at NIDA Business School, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA)​​, advisor affiliate at the Center for Competitiveness, University of Fribourg, Switzerland, member of the Monitoring and Evaluation Subcommittee under the Digital Economy and Society Development Fund, the Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission. 

Mr. Subhak Siwaraksa obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and English Literature from Georgetown University, a Master’s Degree in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from University of Pennsylvania, USA. Currently, he is also member of the Monetary Policy Committee and member of the Bank of Thailand ​Board.
