The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), in collaboration with Manoottangwai (meaning “people of different generations”) content creator, organized the "Lifelong Investing for the 50+" Campaign and a Personal Finance 101 workshop for people aged 50 and above. The workshop aimed to help participants practice managing their portfolios based on their risk levels, share experiences of falling victims to investment scams, and learn positive financial planning strategies for retirement. Ms. Archinee Pattamasukhon, SEC Assistant Secretary-General, gave welcoming remarks to over 100 participants. Expert speakers included (1) Ms. Warapan Wongsarkham, a value investor and an inspirational speaker, who has successfully created passive income for her retirement, (2) Ms. Narumol Boonsanong, CFP®, an expert in financial planning from the Financial Planning Association of Thailand, who shared techniques and investment plan examples suitable for different life stages, and (3) Mr. Sethawat Phutrakul, an SEC senior officer, who discussed online investment scams, taught participants how to spot signs of online scams, and provided tips on how to avoid becoming a victim. The event took place at KX-Knowledge Space in Bangkok on 18 January 2025.
