The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), represented
by Ms. Archinee Pattamasukhon, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the SEC Complaint Center,
took part in a discussion on the topic “Exposing Scams: Recognizing the Fraud
Game 5.0” under the “Building Thai People's Awareness of Online Issues (1212 ETDA)” Project, organized by the
Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), with the opening remarks
delivered by Mr. Banjong Khunphet, Vice Governor of Nan Province. During the
seminar, the SEC Assistant Secretary-General discussed the SEC's role in
protecting investors from falling victims to fraudsters as well as the
collaboration across agencies and platform service providers to block
fraudulent platforms and limit the damage to the public. In
addition, the SEC highlighted efforts to build immunity to investment scams
through various media and tools such as SEC Check First application and
Investor Alert web page, which can be used to verify information before making
investment decisions. The event aimed to raise awareness, especially among the
elderly, and was attended by 200 participants on 21 January 2025 in Nan Province.
