SEC encourages JKN bondholders to closely monitor updates on the company’s rehabilitation petition

Tuesday 14 November 2023 | No. 212 / 2023

Bangkok, 14 November 2023 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) encourages the holders of JKN Global Group Public Company Limited (JKN) bonds to closely monitor news updates and prepare documentation regarding their bondholding. Additionally, the bondholders are advised to study their rights under relevant laws. The SEC has provided necessary information on JKN bonds on the SEC website.

On 8 November 2023, JKN filed a petition for business rehabilitation with the Central Bankruptcy Court. The Court issued an order accepting the rehabilitation petition on the following day, resulting in the occurrence of an Automatic Stay, and subsequently affecting the payment of interest and the repayment of all outstanding JKN bonds. The Court set the date for the examination of the JKN rehabilitation petition on 29 January 2024. If the Court issues an order for the rehabilitation of JKN and appoints a rehabilitation planner, the bondholders must submit a request for debt repayment to the official receiver of the Legal Execution Department within one month from the announcement date of the order appointing the rehabilitation planner.

The SEC suggests that the JKN bondholders closely follow news updates and prepare documentation regarding their bondholding in case it becomes necessary to confirm their bondholder status. Additionally, the bondholders should study their rights under the Bankruptcy Act B.E. 2483 (1940), in the parts related to business rehabilitation.

Furthermore, the SEC has created a bond data hub on the SEC website at  https://www.sec.or.th/TH/Pages/INFORMATION-DEBT.aspx , providing necessary information for bondholders, including information on JKN bonds. For more information and inquiries, please contact the SEC Public Service Center at Hotline 1207, press 9, during regular business hours and days.

Currently, JKN has a total of seven outstanding bond series, with details as follows:
