Tuesday 24 January 2023 | No. 12 / 2023

Bangkok, 24 January 2023 – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has launched the ESG Product Platform to offer an additional channel, enabling capital market participants and the public to comprehensively access information on ESG bonds. This will be a mechanism enabling such products to gain wider visibility which is in line with the SEC Strategic Plan to enhance the capital market’s potential for sustainability.

The ESG Product Platform is an information center for sustainability financial products, developed by the SEC to provide convenience to participants in the capital market, such as companies interested in issuing ESG bonds, asset management companies and the general public, so they may comprehensively access information on ESG financial products, namely ESG bonds* and SRI funds. The platform will display the following information in both Thai and English:

(1) market overview, statistics of the offering value of ESG bonds, and the value of assets under the management of sustainable and responsible investing funds (SRI Funds);

(2) the list of ESG bonds and SRI Funds, complete with basic information, such as types of bonds, total offering value, rate of returns, and credit rankings; or, in the case of SRI Funds, the information on types, special features and documents of the funds will be displayed; and

(3) regulations, standards, manuals, guidelines, or articles related to ESG financial products.

In addition, the SEC plans to continuously develop the platform, such as adding details and information on offering of each class of ESG bonds, including relevant post-offering reports** by 2023 for completeness and to meet the needs for a wider variety of information. Information on ESG products can be accessed via the ESG Product Platform on https://web-esg.sec.or.th/.
