SEC public hearing on the new CG Code

Bangkok, 2 August 2016 ? The SEC is seeking public comments on the Corporate Governance Code (CG Code), which will replace the Principles of Good Corporate Governance for Listed Companies 2012.

The CG Code serves as a guideline for listed companies in installing CG principles into various facets of their business operation. This includes the formulation of company?s directions, strategies and operations as well as its monitoring and reporting processes, all of which by taking into account potential business impacts on the economy, the society and the environment.

By implementing the CG Code, the boards of directors could promote sustainable benefits for their listed companies, particularly in four key areas, namely (1) creating values with long-term perspective, (2) managing ethical and responsible business, (3) maintaining good corporate citizenship, and (4) promoting resilience to various risk factors and changes.
