Bangkok, 20 October 2016 ? The SEC is seeking public comments on the draft rules governing provision of investment services on capital market products denominated in foreign currency to promote a wider range of products and enhance international competitiveness of Thai intermediaries.
In drafting the proposed rules, the SEC has taken into consideration the stakeholders? comments and suggestions earlier collected from the hearing on the guiding principles in January this year. Further revisions were also made to facilitate introduction of diverse investment choices in response to investors? demands, and to increase intermediaries? flexibility and efficiency in providing investment services conducive to fair competition with foreign counterparts.
The hearing covers draft rules on provision of services by securities intermediaries for investment in capital market products denominated in foreign currency and other related regulations specified in seven notifications.
