SEC plans to revise the criteria of the report form for intermediary business operators to accommodate the new financial reporting standards

Thursday 12 September 2019 | No. 111 / 2019

Bangkok, Thursday 12 September 2019 - SEC is conducting a public hearing on revision of the regulations on the report of the intermediary business operators in order that SEC shall be able to sufficiently oversee their financial position and assess their related risks, as well as monitor the development of the industry, without causing excessive burden for the business operators.

SEC has plans to review the criteria relating to the report form of the securities and derivative  business operators to accommodate the change in financial reporting standards - financial instrument that will be effective from 1 January 2020. The report form will be revised to be in line with the financial statement form which has  recently been revised.  In addition, SEC considers it reasonable to increase the flexibility in submitting the report to be in line with the operation procedures of the business operators, whereby the business operators may request  an extension in submitting reports in the case of any unexpected event, and the submission period will be based on business days instead of calendar days  to allow  business operators to have more time.

SEC has made the public hearing document available at www.sec.or.th/hearingRelated persons and interested parties may express their comments on the website or send comments to e-mail: sakdas@sec.or.th  or  juthaporn@sec.or.th until 10 October 2019.
