Bangkok, 18 June 2019 - SEC together with the Central Institute of Forensic Science signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation and support of testing evidence using forensic science for effective law enforcement at the SEC Office on June 18, 2019.

Suwanmongkol, said, "The efficiency of law
enforcement depends in one part on the competency in
gathering and testing the evidence. Currently, the offenses in the capital
market are complicated and finding the
evidence is difficult, especially electronic evidence which requires assistance from specialized agencies. Therefore, this
cooperation between SEC and the Central Institute of Forensic Science is a new dimension that will increase
the chances of success in law enforcement and the deterrence of offenses in the capital market.”
Police Lieutenant Colonel Wannaphong
Kocharak, Director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science, said: "Currently,
the evidences from forensic science is weighty and accepted
in many civilized countries. The Central Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of Justice, is very pleased to cooperate in
order to support the collection and testing of evidence through forensic science which will
enable efficient law enforcement."
In this regard, the said cooperation is in line
with SEC's mission in the enforcement of law against offenders according to the
Securities and Exchange Act B.E. 2535 (1992) and other laws which are under the
responsibility of SEC. And it is also in
line with the mission of the Central Institute of Forensic Science in using
forensic science to promote the judicial process and cooperate with government
agencies in developing the work of forensic science in accordance with
international standards.
