Sustainable
finance is one of the SEC strategic plans to support the achievement of
Thailand’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SEC has also been
developing a sustainable finance eco-system of Thailand capital market which
aligns with and cover 6 foundation areas, including the issuers, the investors,
the products, the external reviewers, the information platform and the
cooperation.
ISSUERS
Supporting the listed companies in the capital market to integrate the sustainability to their operation strategy and supply chain. Also disclose the sustainability information through “One-report” to make sure that investors can take advantage of disclosed information of the business conduct with good governance, social and environmental responsibility (ESG) before making investment decision. In addition, supporting businesses raising fund via sustainable financial products.
INVESTORS
Raising investors’ awareness on the importance of ESG by introducing the Investment Governance Code (I Code); encouraging investors to invest responsibly as well as integrating ESG and its related risks into their investment processes; and, providing standardized disclosure on ESG-related features of the Sustainable and Responsible Investing Fund (SRI Fund) to their clients to reduce the risk of greenwashing, which also enables clients to make informed investment decision makings.

REVIEWERS & ASSESSORS
Supporting the local sustainability reviewers to fulfills the necessity of independent performance verification at a lower cost. Currently, TRIS Rating has been approved as a green bond verifier, under the Climate Bonds Initiative and became the first local reviewer in Thailand.
PLATFORM
Developing
the bulletin platform to serve as information center for sustainable financing
instrument in capital market (equity, debenture, and fund) to enhancing the
sustainable products’ visibility.
COOPERATION
The strong collaboration across stakeholders both local and international organizations to drive sustainable finance in Thailand's capital market.
